Sentara Woodview – South Boston, VA

Sentara Woodview includes four separate neighborhoods, each with its own staff. Hummingbird Lane, Magnolia Trail and Butterfly Path are home to sixty residents each. The neighborhoods include both semi-private and private rooms.  Seasons, an assisted living community, is home to 18 residents with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

Our task was to maximize the use of outdoor spaces, while minimizing waste and avoiding excessive costs; all while creating usable outdoor spaces that are functional and enjoyable to view from the inside as they are to explore and experience outside.  One of the functional spaces was the new concept for an outdoor physical therapy garden, where patients could experience every aspect of physical therapy with a beautiful garden.

Sentara MeadowView Terrace – Clarksville, VA

Sentara MeadowView Terrace is divided into five distinct living areas: Finch Lane is a 42-bed neighborhood; Sundrop Court accommodates 36 residents; Honeysuckle Lodge is a 30-resident household; Primrose Park is a self-contained neighborhood for 24 individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and includes a specially designed outdoor serenity garden; Periwinkle Cottage is an 18-bed self-contained memory support household.
